The veteran Puerto Rican salsa singer Gilberto santa rosa will offer on June 26 the first great concert with an audience and in a closed place in Puerto Rico in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, their representatives announced.
The great presentation of the so-called “Caballero de la Salsa”, entitled “Camínalo Pal ‘Choli”, will take place at the José M. Agrelot Coliseum of Puerto Rico in San Juan at 20:30 local time (00:30 GMT) and produced by Rafo Muñiz for Prolat Entertainment, as detailed in a brief press release.
It was in this same venue where the last great musical show was held prior to the closure of closed places and a curfew decreed by the former governor of Puerto Rico Wanda Vázquez to try to prevent cases of the virus on the island. That massive presentation was the second edition of the Premios Tu Música Urbano.
The presentation of Santa Rosa is thanks to the new executive order announced by the Governor of Puerto Rico, Pedro Pierluisi, on May 20.
In accordance with the new executive order, which allows the return of shows limited to 30% of the capacity of the venue, in the case of the Colosseum, some 4,000 people may attend the shows, which will be distributed in groups of 2, 4 and 6 individuals.
People attending the shows will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test or evidence of having fully received the vaccine. Among other provisions, the new executive order on the pandemic eliminates the night curfew.
The changes respond to a sustained reduction in the past few weeks in the rate of infections and hospitalizations, as well as an increase in the number of people vaccinated in Puerto Rico.
Ticket sales will start on June 1 at 10:00 local time (14:00 GMT) through www.ticketera.com and at the ticket office of the Coliseo de Puerto Rico.
