Last November 6th a very special concert was held for metallicawhich was held at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida which served as a tribute to Jon and Marsha Zazulathe couple who ran Megaforce Recordsthe company that was the first to trust the band that they have led to this day lars ulrich Y James Hetfield.
For the occasion, the repertoire focused on the first two Metallica albums, ‘Kill ‘Em All’ Y ‘Ride the Lightning’and the event was completed with the opening performance of the veterans Ravena band that also accompanied the first steps of Metallica on Megaforce Records.
Now we can enjoy the compilation of images captured during the performance that have given shape to two separate videos that accompany the complete listening to the concert, lasting two hours. It must be remembered that part of the proceeds from this concert was donated in the name of Jon and Marsha to the NGO MusicCaresdedicated to helping the health and well-being of musicians through preventive, emergency and recovery programs.
Jon Zazula He passed away on February 1 at the age of 69.and this was the message with which Metallica announced the tribute concert to him and his wife: “Jonny gave us our first break in New York, put out our first albums on his label, Megaforce Records, and got us on the road for our first real tour. With Marsha by his side, Jonny was a mentor, a manager, a boss. label and a father figure to all of us. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the two of them. Unfortunately, we recently lost Jonny and Marsha, just over a year apart. We’re putting together a special setlist for you full of songs of our days with Jonny and Marsha in Megaforce. Our main tour partner from that time, Raven, will join us to join in the celebration and bring back the memories.”
