Some weeks ago, the Foo Fighters surprised us with the announcement that after almost a year off, they will return this 2023 with a new studio album called But Here We Are. From this album we have already listened to several songs that have left us with a square eye, such as “Rescued”, “Under You” and “Show Me How” (where Dave’s daughter, Violet Grohl, collaborates).
But now, Foo Fighters have released a new song titled “The Teacher, which is very special for several reasons. The main one is that is the longest role -it lasts 10 minutes- and multifaceted in the band’s career, since it has a lot of impressive musical changes. but also with her it looks like they’re saying goodbye to both Taylor Hawkins and Virginia Grohl.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Foo Fighters also released a video clip for this song, which was directed by multimedia artist Tony Oursler (who caught the band’s attention for his work with David Bowie). Here, we see the group playing the song today among old footage, some of it shot on VHS and even footage of Virginia Grohl herself.
