FIFA promises free concerts during Qatar World Cup

DOHA, Qatar (AP) — FIFA on Wednesday promised a series of concerts featuring international stars for foreign visitors at the official Fan Fest in Qatar during the World Cup.

Soccer’s governing body said Al Bidda Park in downtown Doha will host “concerts by the best local and international musicians and live performances by internationally renowned artists” during the 29 days of the tournament. The World Cup will be inaugurated on November 20.

The Fan Fest stage is close to the Corniche boardwalk and the West Bay district, the official area where giant screens will be installed so that fans can watch all 64 games.
