[Festivales] 70 bands take Medellín in the Ciudad Altavoz 2022

From September 23 to 25, 70 alternative music bands from Medellín start their way to Altavoz Fest in the punk, metal, rap, rock, core, ska and reggae, electronic and alternative genres. The day will take place in two stages in Medellín: the Carlos Vieco open-air theater and in the Gabriel García Márquez Park Channel – Telemedellín.

From Friday the 23rd to Sunday the 25th of September, Ciudad Altavoz will once again make Medellín vibrate with new musical offerings from 70 bands and more than 350 local artists in the punk, metal, rap, rock, core, ska and reggae genres, electronic and alternative in the open-air theater Carlos Vieco and the Canal Parque Gabriel García Márquez – Telemedellín.

This year, in addition to being held in a 100% face-to-face format, the event will have a new setting: Telemedellín, the Gabriel García Márquez Park Channel, where bands from the rap, rock, core and electronic and alternative genres will perform; In addition, it returns to the traditional open-air theater Carlos Viecofor people to enjoy the genres of punk, metal, ska and reggae.

“I want to invite all of Medellín and the Metropolitan Area to connect with Ciudad Altavoz. 70 bands that have been selected by different juries in the Fomento y Estímulos process that started at the beginning of the year and that this time they are going to face each other on stage to show their talent, their quality, their technique”, expressed the secretary of Citizen Culture, Álvaro Narváez Díaz.

During this day, the bands will be evaluated by 21 juries that will choose 28 of them to participate in the Altavoz Fest 2022. The concerts will start between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and will go until 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

The director of Altavoz Fest, Felipe Grajales, invited you to experience these three days of musical diversity in the city. “We wait for you to enjoy, to see all these bands. Some well-known ones that Medellín has, that will be in this festival, but that, in addition, there are other new ones that you are going to begin to know“, said.

Ciudad Loudspeaker has been established as an artistic and cultural meeting that gives voice to the emerging talent of Medellín in alternative musical genres. This year 292 bands who auditioned signed up and 70 of them passed to this next stage where they will participate for one of the quotas in International Speaker.

Athemesis, symphonic metal band, is one of those that are part of this edition. “This year we will be participating in the Ciudad Altavoz concerts. We are going to be on September 24, at the Carlos Vieco theater, so you can go and enjoy all the musical proposals”, added its vocalist Andrea Puerta Bernal.
