At the beginning of last October came the unexpected recall announcement by David Lee Roth. The one who was the vocalist of Van Halen launched the official statement of his farewell to the stage with the words he offered to Las Vegas Review-Journal, starting with a direct “me jubilo”, which gave way to the claim that the shows that the 66-year-old vocalist had ahead of him in Las Vegas they would be the last of his career. Something that finally cannot be done.
Last week the cancellation of the first two concerts (December 31 and January 1) was announced with the following statement: “Due to unforeseen circumstances related to Covid and as a precaution for those who work and attend the shows, the David Lee Roth performances scheduled for December 31, 2021 and January 1, 2022 have been canceled. The price refund of the tickets will be processed automatically, and the ticket holders will be notified directly. “
Finally, the concerts that were scheduled for the following weeks of January, a total of seven performances that would resume tomorrow, the 5th, and closed on the 21st and 22nd after four more dates had been added, have also been canceled, with the “alarming” increase in hospitalizations caused by Covid-19 in the state of Nevada, as assured by the Governor Steve Sisolak, as the main reason that has prevented Roth’s scheduled farewell from the stage from taking place.
Just a few hours ago, the vocalist’s networks presented the publication in which you could read “Something funny happened on the way to Vegas …”, an image that they assure from Van Halen News Desk which was sent to them accompanied by the words of Roth himself with a concise and direct “it was canceled”.
We are seeing an alarming number of COVID-19 cases & hospitalizations reported after the holidays. We are working with health districts and other partners to provide resources to combat this surge.
Get vaccinated & if eligible, get a booster.https://t.co/ufUgXTpoJa pic.twitter.com/9GVRCuTfZ0
