Garrett, 42, was introduced to the violin when he was just a four-year-old boy. However, he fell in love with the instrument and from that moment began an intimate relationship that made him one of the most recognized violinists in the world, not only because of his quality as an instrumentalist, but also because he is a benchmark of the genre. crossover.

The musician is the son of Georg P. Bongartz, a violin teacher, and it was from him that he began his musical education. His childhood was marked by discipline and daily work with his father, who fostered his talent, supported him and became the driving force behind David’s career.

At the age of 10, the prodigious boy was already playing on big stages accompanying international orchestras. According to his official biography, during his adolescence he dedicated himself exclusively to interpreting classical music, but when he went to study in New York he opened the possibilities for him to other genres, thus reaching the crossover in which he combines the classic work with current pop music.

He finished his studies at the prestigious Juilliard School, where he graduated in 2004. To help with his expenses, the artist also dedicated himself to modeling and acting.

For his work and talent, Garrett has even been called “the Paganini of the 21st century”, drawing a comparison of his virtuosity to that of the legendary Italian violinist Niccolò Paganini (1782-1840). The musician is said to play an Antonio Stradivari violin from 1718 and a Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin from 1772.

Garrett is coming to Costa Rica with his renowned band and will perform in an intimate format for a limited number of people, the organization reported in a press release.
