Dan McCafferty He was known by the world of music for being the vocalist of the band nazareth from its foundation in 1968 until 2013, the year in which he retired for health reasons. Still, his passion for music led him to release a solo album titled ‘Last Testament‘ in 2019.
One of the band’s best-known albums is ‘Hair of the Dog‘, which was released in 1975 and contains the theme ‘lovehurts’, one of the most emblematic of the band and of the scene of the 70s. Likewise, the homonymous song of the album would be re-versioned by the emblematic band Guns N’ Roses.
After collapsing on the stage, McCafferty retired after being diagnosed with Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). His failing state of health led him to leave the group on good terms.
“If you can’t do the job, you shouldn’t be there. Nazareth is too big for that“, Said the same Dan in a testimony recovered by the British newspaper Mirror.
Currently, the rock band is on a European tour in which McCafferty was not part of the group after being replaced by Carl Sentence.
