Cancun (Mexico), 28 Oct. With more than 24,000 spectators inside the Andrés Quintana Roo stadium in the Mexican city of Cancún and at least 3,000 people in the surrounding area, “La Última Vuelta World Tour” began last night with which Regetonero Daddy Yankee will say goodbye to the stage.

The concert, which began around midnight, captured the attention of thousands of followers from the moment the start of the Puerto Rican tour was announced, because the day the first tickets went on sale, the digital platform collapsed and Tickets sold out in less than 20 minutes.

In Cancun, the local authorities implemented a security operation in the surroundings from the day before, as many fans decided to camp outside the Cancun soccer stadium.

Although the start time of the event was 8:00 p.m. (01:00 GMT Friday), the event organizers changed the start several times, apparently due to production problems.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. (04:00 GMT Friday) at night, a drone show announced the expected start of the concert.

With the effect of augmented reality, the doors of an impressive plane were opened, which quickly approached on the screen, giving the sensation that it was landing on the stage. While Daddy Yankee came out on the right side, his group of dancers did the same on the other side, provoking the shouts of all the attendees.

On his way through Mexico, Dady Yankee will offer concerts in Veracruz, Tijuana, Monterrey, Zapopan and Guadalajara, and in Mexico City, where five concerts are scheduled. The farewell tour also includes concerts in Guatemala, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, the United States and Puerto Rico.

The couple formed by Matthew Unruh, from the United States, and Julieta Cardona, from Monterrey, came against all odds to the concert, since just a few days before traveling to Cancun with the main objective of going to the event, Matthew had an accident in house that caused fractures in both ankles and had to make the trip in a wheelchair.

“The only reason I’m here is because she’s a fan of Daddy Yankee, I honestly know about two or three songs and nothing more, but it’s Cancun, the opportunity must be taken to be here and see the concert”, Unruh told EFE.

Although he prefers other genres such as metal, he said he is open to learning more about Latin rhythms to see if he becomes a new follower.

“It’s not that I’m not a fan, it’s that I don’t know, (…) but let’s see if Daddy Yankee can win another fan, another fan,” he said.

Since she found out about the farewell tour of “The Big Boss” and seeing that they would not be in Monterrey on November 23 and 24, Julieta Cardona decided to take advantage of the trip to Cancun to enjoy a few days of vacation with her partner and although the fall of more than five meters that Matthew suffered was about to ruin their plans, they managed to make the trip.

Aisha Jenzuny García is barely 16 years old, but she says that she has been a fan of Daddy Yankee since she was about 6 years old and danced with her cousins ”La Gasolina”. She went to the concert with several family members and close friends.

“I feel like a great artist is leaving, but I think maybe he needs to rest. Everyone likes reggaeton, in fact, I was not supposed to come, they were the most excited because it is my mother’s birthday, “he told EFE.

The fans who could not enter the stadium remained around, many chose to climb the metal fences that the police placed or nearby buildings were located and even in the patrols that were part of the security operation that covered several nearby avenues. EFE
