The festival will require a Covid passport in all its shows
Current runs out of its section on vermouth concerts at Bodegas Franco-Españolas: six appointments with twelve very diverse groups. This important cut in the musical programming of the festival organized by the Government of La Rioja is directly coordinated by the promoter Impar Eventos, which had been able to offer its usual bar service but that the Ministry of Culture has decided to suspend after the latest sanitary restrictions imposed this Tuesday. The Film Marathon in 7 Infantes and the concert in the Stereo room are also suspended for the schedule. In addition, the COVID passport will be required at all shows.
The suspended concerts are those of the groups: León Impala and Tulsa (on Sunday 2), Dubinci Sound and The Crab Apples (Monday 3), Superfuzz and Queralt La Hoz (Tuesday 4), The Prussians and Hola Chica (Wednesday 5), Karmento and Compra Oro (Friday 7) and Maximiliano Calvo and Romero Martín (Saturday 8).
The concert in the Stereo room (Saturday 8) of the Debruces group, winner of the War of the Bands of the previous year, is also canceled.
The news of these cancellations arrives the day after it is known that the Fundición room also extends its closure until January 24 and thus suspends its five concerts included in the ‘Off Actual’ program: The Clams (day 4), O ‘Funk’illo (5), Aurora & The Betrayers (6), Capsula (7) and Huntza (8). With this, seventeen groups are already falling off the bill, more than half of those initially announced in this edition of the Contemporary Cultures Stage.
On the 22nd Actual day, it already decided to suspend “for health reasons” the gastronomic offer planned for the evening concert nights in Riojafórum (from January 2 to 8). For its part, in Bodegas Franco-Españolas, a stage that was to host the vermouth-concerts with capacity for about 180 people seated and with separate tables, they still trusted to be able to maintain the bar service to consume at the table, according to the promoter Rafa Bezares. But finally it has not been possible, as this newspaper has learned, and the closure of the bar imposed by the Ministry has led to the cancellation of the concerts decided by Odd Events.
The previous edition of Actual did not hold the usual Franco Españolas vermouth concerts, one of the festival’s hallmarks in recent years. The already imminent edition of Actual 2022 is certainly diminished and before a panorama that begins to question the suitability of its celebration.
From the organization of the festival, “the postponement of the cycle of Vermús concerts that were to be held at Bodegas Franco-Españolas at noon and that include a combined experience of live music, wine and gastronomy” has been confirmed. «From Actual – they point out in a note – the recommendation to avoid restoration activities is thus taken into account and announces the celebration of this cycle on a new date throughout the year 2022, when the health situation is more favorable. After analyzing different options, the festival finally wants to preserve the essence of one of its already emblematic cycles, which for this edition had sold practically all the tickets. The organization will proceed in the next few days to enable the ticket return process to its buyers through its own sales channels, as a preliminary step to reconfiguring the program on new dates. ”
Likewise, it confirms the suspension of the concert program planned for the Fundición hall within the ‘Off Actual’ cycle, and of the concert on the 8th at the Stereo hall, in these cases “in an exercise of responsibility from the promoters of these venues, where the The typology of these concerts and of the halls themselves did not allow us to guarantee compliance with the safety regulations in force at this time ».
Continuing with the news, Actual informs of the suspension of the Film Marathon, scheduled for the night of January 5, and whose format and night time “are incompatible” with the new framework of measures and recommendations decided by the Government of La Rioja .
Except for these incidents, Actual Festival informs that “it will develop a program that includes more than 40 Music, Film and Performing Arts shows in full during the scheduled dates.” “The new festival – he says in his statement – was designed taking as a reference the successful edition of 2021, held without incident last January in the worst environment of the pandemic, and that precaution is what allows now to carry out the bulk of the programming in conditions of total sanitary security. The other key endorsement has been the choice of different scenic spaces (Riojaforum, Breton Theater, La Rioja Museum, Gonzalo de Berceo Room …) that throughout the year 2021 have hosted dozens of cultural shows from the rigor in the application of protocols and sanitary measures, and without having registered any outbreak or positive case ».
With the festival already adapted to the different security protocols in force and the experience of the last edition, the other main novelty to comply with the new regulations will be the request for the COVID certificate to spectators aged 12 or over who want to access any of the shows. Thus, three types of COVID Certificate will be accepted as valid: – Vaccination Certificate: it certifies that the holder has been administered the complete vaccination schedule against COVID 19, of any of the authorized vaccines. – Diagnostic test certificate: certifies that the holder has a negative diagnostic test in relation to COVID-19. It expires at 72h for the PCR test; and at 48 hours for the antigen test, from the completion of the test or test. The tests carried out by professionals and authorized centers will be valid. – Recovery certificate: It is issued after passing COVID-19, diagnosed by valid test by the competent authority. It expires after 180 days, counting from the date of the initial positive result.
This certificate can be requested online: on the Rioja Salud website
https://cvd.riojasalud.es/ or on the website of the Ministry of Health

The festival also appeals to individual responsibility and the commitment of its spectators to be able to enjoy Safe Culture together in the first week of the year. Likewise, it recommends that all spectators attend the shows well in advance so as not to generate crowds at the entrances to them.
