Coldplay offers one of shows most colorful and visually captivating of these decades, and three have already been confirmed their concerts in Limathroughout the history of the band, up to this 2022. A good part of this staging is achieved thanks to some small bracelets that are already known by the fans of the band, the xylobands. What are they? Where to get them? How to get them? And why should we return them after a concert?
The british band began to offer these small visual instruments during his tour to promote “Mylo Xyloto”his fifth studio album, released in 2011.
What are xylobands?
Since the “Mylo Xyloto tour”, fans of the band have always highlighted the great visual additive that was achieved thanks to the xylobands. This is maintained until “Music of the Spheres world tour” of this 2022.
It’s about some white bracelets that have internal lighting and that are synchronized to change color according to different parts of the concert.
How do xylobands work?
These bracelets are placed in the same way that you would put on a watch. They have inside a radiofrequency receiver and a light emitter.
Those responsible for making them work are the staff members of the coldplay concerts. They turn on transmitters to change the color of the fixtures during the concert.
Like the coldplay recitals they usually take place at night (at least on their tours), the bracelets are delivered at the entrance of each of these.
Its range, however, does not exceed 800 meters, although it can also be calibrated to reach 400 meters.
The latter means that the radiofrequency emitters that make them work are placed at strategic points in the event venue. On this last point, it should be noted that the band usually performs in stadiums, as it has done in Lima before, in the National Stadium.
What about Coldplay bracelets?
Thanks to the numerous testimonies and visual records that exist on YouTube and other networks about Coldplay concerts, it is known that the xyloband behave differently during each song that the band performs.
For example, it is classic that for the song Yellow the bracelets light up yellow. This is because the devices have yellow, red and blue LEDs, the three primary colors, with which you can get any other, including white.
The meaning is that the public connects in a more intimate way with the band and that the feeling of closeness is transmitted to every spectator regardless of their place.
In addition, since the xylobands are delivered to all attendees, the landscape that is drawn thanks to them becomes a light show synchronized and uniform. Coldplay concerts are already known for this experience.
What do the xylobands of the group Coldplay LIVE look like?
You can see her in action in the song Yellow through this link.
Do they still work if we don’t return them on the day of the concert?
The tradition in the concerts that Coldplay performs since 2012 is that the xylobands are returned in small boxes placed at the exit of each concert.
Collaborators of the band or the person in charge of the event will be placed there to invite the public to return the xylobands.
An important point to note is that the xylobands have a battery and, at least in the concerts of the British band, these last six hours.
Different portals specialized in music, as well as many users in Youtubeclaim that xylobands can work even after a concert.
The only thing that would be needed is to find the right batteries and use a tutorial that explains how to program them.
Why should you return the xylobands?
In 2012, Chris Martin himself complained about how much it cost the band to offer the xylobands at each of their concerts (approximately $645,000 each).
For some years now, although the group has been praised for its staging, certain comments have also arisen as a result of offering so much plastic in each of its recitals: waste that, in this case, also turns out to be toxic.
That is why the fan clubs themselves and the band itself always invite you to return the xylobands at the end of each concert, since this way they can reuse them and thus help the environment.
Can xylobands be purchased?
Another important point is that xylobands are not an exclusive attraction of Coldplay, although they have become a characteristic of the band.
The company that makes them has its own website (xylobands.com), and there they highlight that they can also be used for sporting, corporate and private events, in addition to musicals (where they highlight their use with Coldplay).
What about Coldplay bracelets?
It is worth noting that the light bracelets of this type are made of plastic, and emit light through a chemical reaction called chemiluminescence.
