Coldplay in Argentina: The story of the fan who bought tickets for the 10 shows

Micaela Gómez already enjoyed the band’s first concert in River. What she spent on tickets for her, her family and her friends.

In 2016, Micaela Gomez missed a show of Coldplay in Argentina and promised never to do it again. This year, she will participate in the British band’s ten nights at River. And this Tuesday, October 25, he already had the first.

There are ten minutes to go until 7:00 p.m. The lines grow impatient towards the access tent of the San Martín Preferential Platea, between Figueroa Alcorta and Monroe avenues. Running, with a packet of chips and some pastries “to stave off hunger inside the stadium,” Micaela Gómez arrives. She’s about to kick off a ten-night series with her favorite band, Coldplay.

Originally from San Miguel, Mica is a clothing entrepreneur and works in customer service. The 25 year old spent $180,000 pesos on tickets. He also bought some as gifts for family and friends, bringing the total to $230,000 pesos. She goes to the first show alone. In fact, only two of the rest will be accompanied; from her best friend on the 26th and from her family on the 28th.

“I think there will be a lot of madness on the 28th, when Jin -vocalist of the Korean pop band BTS– is coming,” he hopes. He also considers that the closure, on November 8, will be amazing.

dressed for the occasion

Micaela wears a jean jacket intervened with the colors of the rainbow – part of the symbology of the group of Chris Martin-, the name of the band and its illustrated members. She made it herself, the night before. Pay attention to all the details to see the band of your dreams.

“I go because I love them and I already missed them once in 2016, where they played my favorite song, A Head Full of Dreams”, she laments, to justify her perfect attendance this 2022. This time, with her head full of dreams, her greatest wish is for Chris to call her and invite her to come on stage. Luckily, she has 10 chances for it to happen.

A bit of context: Coldplay began its string of 10 shows in Argentina on October 25. The ten nights at River will take place within the framework of the Music of the Spheres World Tour, the seventh concert tour of the British band. They will tour Latin America, Europe and North America.

Much River, nothing from Brazil

Due to the pneumonia that affected singer Chris Martin, the band had to cancel their concerts in Brazil and will reschedule them for next year.

In our country, they will be presented -in addition to October 25-, 26, 28, and 29; and on November 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 and 8, 2022.

Coldplay is the first group in history to schedule 10 shows at River Stadium, a single tour and the highest ticket sales in history (more than 600,000). Chris Martin’s band broke the record set so far by Roger Waters (former leader of pink floydwho filled a monumental 9 in 2012 with his The Wall tour).
