Chad Kroeger, the last to talk about Pantera: “Ironically, haters always end up at concerts”

You may already know this, but Panther will return to the stage with Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown in the coming months. There have been few fans who have complained that, without Dimebag Darell or Vinnie Paul, this comeback makes no sense. As everyone thinks, the last one to do it was Chad Croegerfrontman of nickelback.

In a new interview with La Lloyd (via ultimateguitar), the artist has been honest about what he thinks of the band’s return to the stage.

“Well, selfishly, I want to see those songs performed live. When you hear a Pantera record and you think to yourself – well, like we’ve thought… ever since the band broke up – it’s, like, ‘Oh, I’m never going to get there.’ to see these songs live again’. And it’s heartbreaking. So the fact that the guys are called here and there… I love Zakk; I love Charlie – great, great guys. I think the fact that to go up on stage and do this… All Phil has to do is go up and smash him.”

Of course, Kroeger does not like to call what is about to happen a meeting because, for him, it is a tribute: “I would go see that. I would buy a ticket to go see that show. I want to see it. I want to scream those songs. that’s great. People who love that music who want to recreate it live every night…”

“And like I said, as long as Phil puts it together, it’s going to be great. Just sitting back and watching the guys do it… And I think all the Pantera fans are going to love it.”

Chad has predicted, by the way, that most of the Pantera reunion haters will probably do the same as the Nickelback haters, i.e. go to the concerts anyway:

“Anyone who’s sitting around hating the idea, I think when they come to town, they’re going to do the same thing that happens to people who say they don’t like Nickelback. They always run into each other at the show. Weirdly – surprise! It’s like: ‘Ah, I hate those guys. They suck.’ ‘Are you going?’ ‘Of course'”.

Nickelback will release their 10th studio album, ‘Get Rollin’on November 18 via BMG.

On the return of Panther

Pantera has already confirmed the first four dates of their reunion, which will mean the band’s return to the stage with Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Laber Society) and Charlie Benante (Anthrax) in the role of the late Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul. (via blabbermouth.net)

Previously we already informed you that the singer Phillip Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown have signed a contract with Artist Group International to schedule your American dates. The agents in charge of this task will be Dennis Arfa and Peter Pappalardo.

“We are thrilled to be working with such an iconic band and to bring their music back to the fans.”Pappalardo said.

Pantera has Scott McGhee as manager. Their legal representatives are Nick Ferrara And Associates and their international tours are managed by Rod MacSween of ITB.

A year ago, Anselmo said he was willing to reunite with Brown for a tour celebrating Pantera’s legacy.

The 54-year-old vocalist has spent the last few years playing a set centered around Pantera’s music with his band, The Illegals. In the aforementioned statements, the musician said the following about the return of the southern band.

“I think Rex sees what I’m doing with the Illegals and he likes it. He’s like, ‘That’s great,’ because the longer he keeps Pantera alive, it’s good for him, too.”

“I think Rex is very happy doing his solo records and stuff, and I think he’s been in the studio; he’s got his own stuff going.”, he continued. “And I think right now in life, we’re happy to do things this way.”

“If Rex and I had a show to put on or were on stage together again, I would welcome it with open arms. I love Rex. And he would be the same way. We’re brothers forever. So playing onstage together, or doing a few shows together, it’s not out of the question. It could happen.”
