Los Angeles, November 17 (Yonhap) – K-pop sensation BTS has arrived in the United States on Wednesday (local time) to perform their first in-person concert in two years, following the outbreak of the COVID pandemic. 19.

BTS will hold a series of live concerts on November 27 and 28 and December 1 and 2 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

It will be the septet’s first face-to-face concert since their performance at the Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul in October 2019.

Upon their arrival in Los Angeles to perform various live concerts, BTS was greeted by their fans at the airport.

A 15-year-old BTS fan, Carina Hernández, who traveled by car from Mexico to see the group, shouted “Borahae, BTS” (We purple you, BTS) as she received it. “Borahae” is a union of two Korean words: “bora” and “saranghae”, which mean the color purple and I love you, respectively, which is used among BTS fans.

Fans welcomed BTS’s face-to-face concerts as they will now be able to enjoy their in-person performances, which, for the past two years, were streamed only online, including social media, due to COVID-19.

On the other hand, prior to their concerts, BTS will also attend the American Music Awards (AMA) 2021, which will take place on Sunday, at the Microsoft Theater, in Los Angeles.

BTS was nominated in three categories, including Artist of the Year, which equates to the grand prize at the AMA Awards, one of the top three music awards events in the United States.

At the AMA Awards, the septet will perform a performance of the “remix” of “Butter” featuring American rapper Megan Thee Stallion, which will be broadcast live on US broadcaster ABC.

Subsequently, the group will appear next Tuesday on the popular American television program “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” on the US broadcaster CBS, and will do a performance of their recent hit, “Permission to Dance.”

In addition, BTS will participate, on December 3, in the concert tour “Jingle Ball Tour 2021”, one of the largest music festivals in the United States, to be held in Los Angeles.
