Bin Valencia, legend of Argentine rock, dies in full concert playing with his wife and children

The Argentine musician Bin Valenciadrummer of the legendary band Almafuerte from 2001 until the dissolution of the group in 2016, died last Sunday at the age of 61 while performing at La Quadra Rock Club (in the Buenos Aires town of Ramos Mejía) together with Sirio, the band he had formed with his wife Claudia Resnkik and their two children, David and Nils.

The artist, who was presenting some of the songs that will make up the fourth album of the family group, collapsed on stage and although there is no confirmation of the cause, the local media speak of a Fulminant infarction who killed him on the spot.

“Between a lump in the throat, immense pain, still in shock, and without understanding if all this is true or a dream, we try to write these words to find comfort or direction in the face of this hard news for us,” the family wrote. on social networks. «On the night of yesterday, Saturday, October 1st, Binva, our father, husband, and guide, went on tour… A person who does not have enough words to describe him, who gave his soul for this family, and for the music that so much he loved and embraced every moment he lived on this earthly plane. Thank you for all the pure, eternal and unconditional love that you gave us in your existence, something that we will never be able to forget. Binva, our infinite hero, left us doing what he loved to do most every day, playing drums live with his family. Now all that remains is to hug each other, feel you, and listen to you in the wind, or in each plane that flies through the sky of Ramos Mejía.

A few days ago, Valencia gave an interview to talk about what it means to have a family musical project. «We never force our children to play, it was by their own choice that they decided to form a group. They grew up in a house where there is always music, if there is no music it is because something is happening. As much as we are members of a family, when we go to the rehearsal room that we have in the back of the house, we are automatically thinking and talking about everything that has to do with the band».

Almafuerte, the group in which Valencia became famous on the Argentine rock scene, was founded in 1995 by bassist and composer Ricardo Iorio and is considered the most important band of Argentine heavy metal. Valencia, who participated in the albums ‘Piedra libre’, ‘Ultimando’, ‘Toro y pampa’ and ‘Trillando la fina’, joined the group in 2001 after the departure of Walter Martínez, who is currently accompanying Iorio in the new project of the. Both have fired his former partner with these words: «With deep pain we want to convey to all his family, relatives, friends, our condolences from all of us who form Iorio. Thank you for everything you gave us in music, but above all, thank you for the moments lived, for which we had the fortune to have known, your gift for people and good manhood! Rest in peace! Dear Bin!”

Another of the members of Almafuerte, Claudio Tano Marciello, has also said goodbye to him with a sense of humor: «You left the stage. What a champion!!! Have a good trip, Bin.
