He released this Friday the music video for his song “El Apagón”, in which he opted to use a documentary-style format in which he denounces everything from power outages in Puerto Rico to the gentrification of certain areas.

Lasting 22 minutes, the video shows images of Puerto Rico, of the singer’s concerts, of popular protests and media news about the blackouts and the privatization of transmission and electricity distribution.

It is narrated from the general blackout that the entire island suffered last April, to the power outage that affected one of the main hospitals for almost 20 hours last August and the seven rises in just over a year in the electricity bill.

It then gives way to a report by independent journalist Bianca Graulau, who deals with interviews with Puerto Ricans about the displacement of poor communities and the gentrification of neighborhoods in San Juan such as Puerta de Tierra and Santurce.

The video already has more than 1.6 million views on YouTube. Bad Bunny has criticized on numerous occasions, both at his concerts in Puerto Rico and during his tour of the United States, the inaction of local authorities and the poor performance of the private electricity company LUMA Energy.

“I hope that in Puerto Rico they can see it before the power goes out”the singer wrote on Instagram when presenting the video, alluding to possible power outages on the island due to the passage of tropical storm Fiona this weekend.
