“The Directorate of Inspection and Surveillance of the Government of Guadalajara informs that it is not known that the concert of the Greek band Der Stürmer, scheduled for Friday, January 13, has taken place,” he announced in an information sheet released in social networks.

The municipality assured that, at the request of groups from the civil society who asked that the concert not take place, did not grant permission for the realization of the same. In addition, a strong inspection operation was carried out with 32 supervisions in city spaces such as bars, cultural centers, galleries and forums where said event could have taken place.

For his part, the mayor of the city, Paul Lemus He affirmed that although the place of the concert was not disclosed, with information from the intelligence work of the city’s surveillance system they were able to locate at least two possible places.

The lyrics of the band’s songs DSfounded in 1998, address topics such as the National Socialism, War, Anti-Semitism and Racism. Name Der Sturmer corresponded to the most popular weekly National Socialist and anti-Semitic propaganda tabloid in Germany between 1923 and 1945.

The publicity for the concert that circulated on social networks indicated that interested persons should request your tickets in private, in addition to the fact that it was announced that they could meet in a city park to be driven to the concert venue. So far, the local authorities indicated that in said park they did not identify such activity.

For a few days, a group called “Guadalajara Anti-Fascist Coordinator” He called on civil society from social networks to prevent the concert from taking place and asked the music promoters and the city council to make it possible for it not to happen.

“We summon the promoters of neo-Nazism in Mexico, the promoters of the concert and the metal rock bands participants to abandon the idea of ​​holding this concert that undoubtedly attacks us all”, they indicated.

The band also had a confirmed date in Mexico City, the venue where the Der Stürmer concert would take place, it would be at the Hendrix bar (HDX Circus Band), which is located on Cuitláhuac avenue, in the Azcapotzalco mayor’s office. However, the bar issued a statement the day before the alleged show, ensuring that no event of this nature was scheduled on that site.
