Jose Manuel Zamacona, leader of The Yonic’s, died at 7:00 p.m. in Mexico City, due to consequences derived from the Covid-19, confirmed the group’s manager, Artemio Berdeja a THE UNIVERSAL. He was 69 years old.
The musician and founder of the group that emerged in the 70s was infected with the virus, already having two doses of vaccine, and although apparently he had gotten rid of the SARS-CoV-2, the sequelae that left him in the lungs did not allow him to recover, for which he was hospitalized at the end of May.
“We remember him as a wonderful human being, it is a great loss. It is very sad because he is a person who took great care of the virus, he already had the vaccines but this virus is very deadly, the consequences that it leaves in the lungs are terrible ”, lamented Berdeja.
In the last two weeks, in the official accounts of the group they had asked fans for prayers for the health of the musician, who had damaged his left lung, as well as donations to pay for medical expenses, because in the last year they had stopped working. work due to the pandemic.
