A sister of Ricky Martin denies her son’s accusations against the singer

Vanessa Martin, sister of Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin, denied to her son that his famous uncle allegedly sexually assaulted him, causing a series of legal proceedings between the two for several months.

The objection was provided this Wednesday by José Andreu Fuentes, one of Ricky Martin’s three lawyers, after the famous singer’s sister provided text messages from her son before a judge of the Court of First Instance of San Juan.

The messages written by Dennis Yadiel Sánchez Martin led Judge Maranyeli Colón Requejo to deny this Tuesday the request for a protection order under the Law of Victims of Violence of Sexual Assault that Sánchez Martin requested.

“It was shown by some texts that the boy had been trying to create a story to hurt Ricky for some time and by some texts that he himself sent to his mother,” Andréu assured in an interview with Telemundo’s “Día a Día” program.

Andréu specified that Vanessa Martin “provided the texts and an affidavit with those texts”, as part of the evidence presented before the Court of First Instance.

“She feels very sad about this situation, but she knows the problems that her son faces and her interest is to see how she helps her son so that he does not get involved in more problems,” the lawyer added.

Andréu explained that it is unknown “if there is someone behind the boy, who is getting him into trouble and what his mother wants is to protect him from that.”

The legal representatives of Ricky Martin presented strong evidence on Tuesday, which demonstrated in court, a pattern of erratic behavior and falsehoods that Sánchez allegedly established against his uncle.

Because of this, the judge denied the protection order request.

Sánchez Martin initially sued for sexual assault against his uncle in early September, two days after Ricky Martin filed a million-dollar lawsuit for extortion and damages against him.

The lawsuits before the courts began when Sánchez obtained a protection order for domestic violence against the singer, a case that was filed in July at the request of the plaintiff himself.

The case will continue with a next hearing on November 10, where the protection order granted by the court to Ricky Martin against his nephew and later the lawsuit for extortion and defamation will be evaluated.
