The Community of Madrid has organized a program of more than a hundred activities for the Hispanidad 2022 program, the party dedicated to culture in Spanish, which will have as its main course a free concert by Colombian Camilo on October 9 at the Puerta of Alcala.
In this way, the Latin pop singer-songwriter and musician, winner of five Latin Grammy awards and with two Grammy nominations from the American academy, will make a stop in the capital to present his third album as part of his successful tour ‘De Adentro Pa Afuera ‘, they have reported from the regional government.
This will be the highlight of the second edition of this program that will take place between October 4 and 12, under the motto ‘All accents fit in Madrid’. The objective of this event, free and for all audiences, is that people from Madrid and visitors can enjoy music in Spanish by an international artist of recognized prestige.
The annual program Hispanidad, with which the regional government celebrates the Hispanic language and culture and which aspires to become a popular tradition in Madrid, a prelude to Hispanic Heritage Day, includes more than 100 activities that will take place in at least 46 scenarios of the region –26 in Madrid and 20 in other municipalities—, and which will reach Barcelona.
Thus, it will display exhibitions, workshops, recitals, gastronomic days, theater performances and concerts in cultural spaces of the region and in key points of the capital such as the Barrio de las Letras, Chamberí or Madrid de los Austrias.
Likewise, it builds bridges with Catalonia and will take two of the musical performances of the program to the Apolo Theater in Barcelona, one by the Kudyapi Choir (Philippines) and another by the Cruz Díez Orchestra (Venezuela) on October 12.
Also for the first time, it will have two guest regions, as is the case of Ceuta and Melilla, and will have Mexico as the leading country. In this sense, institutions of the American country in Spain such as Casa de México will present different workshops and activities around the emblematic altar of the dead, one of the fundamental elements of Mexican tradition, and the life and work of the artist Frida Kahlo.
There will be nine days of intercultural celebration in which the public will have the opportunity to discover a rich and varied proposal. From concerts by groups from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, the Philippines, Equatorial Guinea, Mexico and Panama, to a grand cavalcade, passing through gastronomic days promoted by the Spanish Academy of Gastronomy and the Mostenses Market, literary workshops and conferences, a cycle of Philippine cinema made in collaboration with Casa Asia and a bullfight in the Plaza de las Ventas.
