Shortly after being released, the sixth installment of Scream seems to be living up to expectations. With its stellar cast, where the young Jenna Ortega and the former Friends stand out courtney coxthe response from the public seems to be as expected, although of course there is still a long way to go to draw conclusions.
This film tries not to be left behind with the popular saga, and despite the fact that it often happens that with so many films conflicts are forced, in Scream VI the team’s work seems to have circumvented that barrier. Much of it is due to the well-achieved confrontation scenes, horror scenes, clearly the most important moments in films of the genre.
Courteney plays Gale Weathers, the New York journalist who seems, in part, to be glad Ghostface is back in town, as it allows her to spice up her work. Thus, in one scene she finally meets the murderer, inside her apartment. This scene, according to Cox, was very physical and “the best scene I’ve ever done in any Scream movie.”
“It took a while and it was like the pinnacle of my acting. It was very physical, one of my favorite scenes I’ve ever had, because I was able to really wrestle with Ghostface,” Cox admitted, adding that directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli told him to do most of the scene herself, leaving as little as possible for her stunt double.
“And yes, I did a lot. I can’t believe that at this point in my life I’ve been able to do so many things. And I think the directors are very good, although I thought… ‘Is it normal for me to do this?’ I loved it. I’m very proud of what I did.”
Let’s remember that this installment distances her from her co-stars, David Arquette and Neve Campbell, who accompanied Cox’s character during other installments, so the importance of the character could be questioned. However, she has left everything behind and given away one of the best moments in the film.
