In more than one cultural after-meal discussion, the question has always been raised: why isn’t there an online portal where a good part of what is done in Costa Rica can be found?
As part of the necessary answers to this questioning, the University of Costa Rica (UCR), together with channel Quince, launched days ago the platform UCRQ.tva site that condenses local productions with international films.
This portal, which has an application that can be downloaded from any virtual store, is free of charge and will be updated every two months.
“Many of these titles are not found on payment platforms because they are not necessarily made visible, so we want to be a response to the challenge that regional cinematography has to distribute content,” explained filmmaker Iván Porras, director of the university channel.

The web portal contemplates bimonthly film cycles. For this inauguration, the channel has assigned four films framed with the title age showssince it presents experiences of older adults from a perspective that vindicates that population.

The platform permanently offers national productions such as the series San José at night, Political Animals, Ecosocial reflections, Science in everything, The Vlog, Ser-Nos-Otras, Gesta del 56, among others.
The idea is to program productions that go with the line of channel 15 and coincide with human rights, ecofeminism, politics, current events, analysis, science, technology, art, culture and university agenda, said Porras.

In addition, the bimonthly cycles will also be broadcast on open television through Canal Quince.
