‘Titanic’ returns to theaters for its 25th anniversary and comes with controversy over the poster

The poster for the 25th anniversary of ‘Titanic’ has unanimously left the Internet wondering what happened to Rose’s hair. Earlier this week, Paramount shared the new movie poster Romantic film directed by James Cameron about the disaster of the ocean liner, winner of 11 Oscars to announce a special re-release in 4K and 3D next month.

The news was certainly received with enthusiasm by fans of the story starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, but it was impossible not to notice that something was wrong with the promotional image.

In the new poster, Winslet’s character Rose can be seen sporting a strange hairstyle that looks double, as if it were the result of a photo editing error. One side of her head has curls like in the original 1997 poster, but there’s a disconcerting addition to the other side: Kate Winslet’s mane is longer and straighter on her right profile. It’s as if her updo has come undone, but it doesn’t look as “natural.”

While it’s unclear what actually happened before the poster hit the web, social media users have been quick to comment on the James Cameron film’s leading lady’s poster and hair.

“Why do you have two different hairstyles?” It was one of the most repeated comments on Twitter.

“A side part right next to the middle part… don’t do it like that.”

“The real tragedy is this poster,” joked another user.

“Who has been in charge of this poster? I could do it better with Picart”, commented another one offering himself.

It is possible that not everyone is convinced by the new poster, but what is clear is that there is a guarantee that ‘Titanic’ will attract the public once again, something that director James Cameron has achieved again with his ‘Avatar: The Sense of the water’.

The follow-up to 2009’s “Avatar” marked the director’s last collaboration with Winslet after “Titanic.” The ‘Mare of Easttown’ star appears as Ronal, a freediver from the Metkayina clan who is married to Cliff Curtis’ Tonowari.

‘Titanic’ will return to theaters on February 10. ‘Avatar: The Sense of Water’ continues to be shown in theaters around the world.

Taking advantage of the fact that the film has turned 25, in Frames we have a special in which we review various issues of what became a social phenomenon. Cast, soundtrack, guests sharing their experiences and opinions about the story… Don’t miss a thing!
