In 1994, one of the most remembered films by all movie lovers was released. We are talking about Forrest Gumpthe film starring Tom Hanks and directed by Robert Zemeckis. The movie was a complete success. It became one of the highest-grossing films of the year (grossing more than $600 million) and also garnered critical acclaim. Today, Forrest Gump is considered a classic of cinema, and although everyone has praised it, some did not hesitate to bring to light some mistakes. As is well known, the film shows us Forrest Gump in some very important moments in history, such as the Vietnam War, Elvis Presley’s rise to fame, visits to the White House, among many other events.
However, one that caught our attention was the one related to Manzana. At one point in the film, Forest relates that Lieutenant Dan invests the profits from his fishing business in shares of Manzana that end up making them millionaires. And it was this detail that set off the alarms of the most attentive viewers.
Back then, and during that particular moment in the movie, it was arguably the year 1974. The funny thing is, the company Manzana it was not founded until 1976, and the same goes for the colored apple logo, which was also created in that year. Also, Manzana It did not begin to have shares in the stock market until the year 1980.
Although it is a minor detail, some were quick to point it out. Some people came out in defense of the film and justified that detail by saying that the event does not take place on those dates but rather some time later, and that therefore, it was not a mistake.
Either way, we’re talking about a minimal detail that no one can get to notice unless someone makes it known. And with mistakes or without mistakes, Forrest Gump continues to be a success and marks generations of people who were captivated by this beautiful and emotional story.
