In 1998 the director john mcnaughton presented a suspense film with a significant cast of stars. The story was well received, but some of its risqué scenes caused controversy among the public. The movie in question is wild thingsknown in Latin America as Wild creatures.
The Wild Creatures story takes us to Miami and focuses on a high school student counselor. This man named Sam Lombardo is accused of abuse by two students, the wealthy and popular Kelly Van Ryan and the introverted and quiet Suzie Toller. The situation puts the people of Blue Bay on edge. The tension reaches its highest point when the trial against the professor begins.
During the trial, a plan is uncovered by one of the alleged victims to sink Lombardo. As the litigation continues, a detective named Ray Duquette begins to follow Lombardo and the victims closely, as he insists that there are things that don’t add up in the case.
Justice makes a favorable decision for the teacher, but as soon as the process concludes, the situation is far from having found a solution.
McNaughton’s film featured the participation of Matt Dillon like sam lombardo Neve Campbell as Suzie Toller, Denise Richards like Kelly Van Ryan and Kevin Bacon as Sergeant Ray Duquette. Also participating were Robert Wagner, Jennifer Bini Taylor and the great Bill Murray.
As was said at the beginning, Wild creatures received good reviews, which highlighted the plot twists and the work delivered by the cast, who created characters that were not really what they claimed to be. At the time of the premiere, controversy arose due to the erotic scenes, mainly when Lombarco’s secret meeting with Toller and Van Ryan takes place.
Those who want to relive Wild Creatures or see it for the first time should know that it is available in Latin America on the signal of HBO Max.
