Peninsula (Train to Busan 2), the sequel to the celebrated and successful korean zombie movie Train to Busan, already has a release date on the streaming platform Movistar + after its theatrical release. This has been announced by those responsible for the platform in collaboration with A Contracorriente Films, confirming that the action film post-apocalyptic can be seen from next June 18, 2021. Zombie saga of records
After the success of Tren a Busan (Train to Busan, 2016), the director, Yeon sang-ho returns to his zombie universe with this long-awaited sequel. And it is that the original film became one of the great sensations of recent Korean fantasy cinema, with more than 11 million viewers in his country, being the first film to surpass the 10 million barrier.
Peninsula, its sequel, was one of the films chosen in the Official Selection of the Cannes Festival 2020, and had his premiere Spanish in the Official Fantàstic Section of the last edition of Sitges Festival. Despite the measures to limit the capacity of the theaters, Peninsula achieved great results in its premiere on the Asian billboard. The film exceeded $ 13 million in gross with 1.8 million viewers at the South Korean box office during its first five days.
With Peninsula, the director closes his zombie trilogy which also includes Seoul Station (2016), animated prequel to Train to Busan.
