The week begins to end and the time and the desire to see a movie increase exponentially. With this, of course, the doubts about what to choose among so many options.
For lovers of horror movies, the platform of the American giant, Prime Video, has several options to offer. Within its catalog you can find different options, from cinema classics to recent films.
For those who want to enjoy high-level films We leave this selection of three titles for all tastesso that they can start the weekend with the adrenaline high.
black water
We start with an option where terror does not reside in the supernatural, not even in shock. There are two strong components in this film directed by Todd Haynes: the concept of the dark and the low tonal key images; and the fact of the consequence of everything that is hidden behind the story.
Inspired by a shocking true story. A tenacious lawyer (Mark Ruffalo) uncovers the dark secret that connects a growing number of deaths and illnesses to one of the world’s largest corporations. In the process he risks his future, his job and even his own family to bring the truth to light. The realistic component of it transfers fear to our armchair as if everything were happening around us. Anne Hathaway and Tim Robbins round out the cast.
the creepy hut
A woman (Riley Keough) who is about to become a stepmother finds herself trapped, along with her fiancé’s two children, in a house far from civilization because of a heavy snowfall. Just as the relationship between the three begins to flourish, the woman adopts a terrifying attitude that stems from the religious indoctrination she suffered in her harsh childhood.
Here, the ABC of the staging of a horror movie is masterfully used. Just as it is true that it is not so innovative, it is totally efficient. As the story progresses, the atmosphere becomes denser, the fear increases, and the interest is greater. A great merit of a genre where in general its last act falls quite a bit.
rosemary’s baby
We close with the unforgettable classic of Roman Polansky. A jewel that does not lose validity. Here, a New York couple moves into a building facing Central Park, which, according to a friend, is cursed. Once settled in, they become friends with Minnie and Roman Castevet, neighbors who shower them with attention. Faced with the prospect of a good future, the Woodhouses decide to have a child; but, when Rosemary becomes pregnant, the only thing she remembers is having made love with a strange creature that has left her body full of marks. As time goes by, Rosemary begins to suspect that her pregnancy is not normal.
Mia Farrow, John Cassavetes and Ruth Gordon star in a film from which no one comes out the same.
