The story behind 127 Hours, the James Franco film
In the year 2002, aron ralston decided to focus entirely on the world of mountaineering. So, on Friday, April 25, 2003, he prepared his climbing gear to spend a weekend in Canyonlands National Park, which is located in Utah. Before going to the place, he did not notify any relatives of his trip nor did he take any communication equipment with him.
On Saturday, April 26, he began his trek into Blue John Canyon. After going through its narrow walls, she leaned on a giant stone without knowing that the worst was going to happen: the stone collapsed and when it fell it got stuck in the walls of the canyon, pressing the boy’s right forearm.
Although he tried to exert force to push the stone, he was unsuccessful. One of the alternatives to get out of the place was to remove weight, so he took a cheap multi-tool and began to scrape the stone. During the night, he used a harness as a swing so that he could support his body and not be overcome by gravity.
During Sunday 27, aron ralston he begins to entertain the idea of cutting off his arm. However, she ends up giving up. just like in the movie 127 hours, takes his camera to film a video where he tells his situation. At the same time, she also begins to suffer from the first hallucinations.
On Monday the 28th he begins to suffer stronger hallucinations, on Tuesday the 29th he runs out of water supplies and the delirium increases more and more. So she decides to cut off his arm; but seeing that his bone was difficult to cut, he ends up aborting the plan. During Wednesday, April 30, the mountaineer gives up and shoots his farewell video.
But, after having a dream that feels like a premonition, Aron makes the decision to amputate his arm. In this way, he uses a knife and with the force of his body manages to break it. Thus, on Thursday, May 1, he finally frees himself from the stone that obstructed his path.
Coming out of the canyon, he traveled 12 kilometers in search of help. On his way he meets the Meijers, a family that alerts the authorities. He is then rescued by helicopter and taken to the nearest hospital. He managed to survive 127 hours tied to a stone weighing more than 300 kilograms.
