Last weekend Marvel stomped during the San Diego Comic-Con 2022. The study brought a significant number of novelties. Within what he presented, there is the first advance of the last film of the year, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Within the panel of the film, its stars were presented, including a new face for the MCU, the Mexican Tenoch Huerta.
After the changes in the script due to the death of Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther 2 filming began. Once the film was on track, it was learned that the story would have one of Marvel’s most iconic characters, Namor, the submariner. Shortly after it came to light that Huerta was the star chosen to interpret it.
With the preview released at Comic-Con, fans could see that in Wakanda, in addition to losing the beloved king, they will have a confrontation with the inhabitants of the bottom of the sea, the Atlanteans. A more than interesting detail is that the Atlanteans take shape based on one of the most ancient cultures of Mexico.
During the panel Black Panther 2, Tenoch Huerta spoke about the film and highlighted something extremely important, inclusion. The star of Narcos México, said that if it weren’t for the inclusion, he would not have come so far. “I come from the neighborhood and, thanks to inclusion, I am here. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for inclusion. Many children are there, in their neighborhoods, looking at us, dreaming of being here and they will achieve it”, Huerta recounted.
The Mexican also did not want to miss a tribute to his roots, expressing that thanks to all Latinos “who crossed the river” Y “they left everything they loved behind”, he and others were able to go far.
In addition to mentioning it in his talk, Tenoch also wore something emblematic that shows his Mexican roots, a colored feather headdress, better known as copilli.
For those who do not know, the word ‘copilli’ or ‘copili’ is of origin Nahuatl and means “crown”. It is an accessory made of feathers that is placed on the head and represents a philosophical element about the flowered consciousness, as well as the union of the terrestrial with the divine. This headdress appeared in the representations of the gods, it was also used by warriors.
Namor and all new characters from Wakanda Forever will appear on the screen next November 11th.
