Whether for its argument, for the crazy story and -mainly- for the brilliant participation of the beloved Robbin Williams, “Jumanji” became a film that marked the childhood of many millennials. Released in 1995, the story of two kids who discover a “forbidden” game and start a game – not knowing they’ll literally be stuck in it until they finish it – became one of the biggest hits of the 2000s. ’90.
27 years have passed since the premiere of “Jumanji” and even the film had a remake starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson that was not what was expected. And it is that neither the reversion nor many other similar or derived productions hit and were as successful in the public as the original. And almost 30 years after the premiere of the “Jumanji” original, this is how the two children who starred in it are today (and who today are not children at all).
Disparate destinies: this is how the two protagonists of “Jumanji” are today
Siblings Judy and Peter Sheperd were the two central protagonists of “Jumanji” (1995), who accompanied the leading man Alan Parrish (played by Robbin Williams). The years passed and the path taken by the actress who gave life to Judy and the actor who played Peter were very different from each other.
The popular Kristen Dunst stepped into Judy’s shoes in “Jumanji” and, even before rising to fame with this 1995 film, he had already had a mini participation in “Interview with a vampire”. Later, and in his most important roles, Dunst shone in “Spider-Man”, “Little Women”, “Wimbledon” and “The Virgin Suicides”, among other films. Her most recent leading role was in the movie “The Power of the Dog” and earned her the nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars.
As for Peter, the actor who brought him to life was Bradley Pierce. Unlike Kristen DunstPierce did not have a prolific film career after starring in “Jumanji”. In fact, currently the 39-year-old man has dedicated himself to running his own restaurant in Los Angeles and helping charity and charitable organizations.
