In the year 2005 Warner Bros presented Constantinea live-action film adapting the character John Constantine from the DC/Vertigo series hellblazer. Over time, Keanu’s film continued to gain fans and left behind the criticism that weighed against him.
For some time now, both Reeves and the director of the first installment, Francis Lawrence, had made their intentions clear that they would like Constantine to return with a sequel, everything seems to indicate that they were listened to.
According to advanced DeadlineWarner Bros. greenlit the development of a Constantine sequel with the return of Keanu in the role and Francis Lawrence in the director’s chair. According to the site, Akiva Goldsman (I, Robot) will be in charge of writing the new installment and will also produce the project through Weed Road Pictures, along with Bad Robot’s JJ Abrams and Hannah Minghella.
At the moment it is unknown when the sequel to Constantine could be released, nor is it known if some of the important characters from the first installment could return, such as Tilda Swinton as the archangel Gabriel and Peter Stormare as the Devil himself.
