Among the most popular franchises are those of James Bond (MGM only has 50% and will have to negotiate with the Broccoli family for future projects), the Pink Panther and Rocky, among others. Now the final approval of the regulatory bodies is missing, although analysts agree that the operation will have the OK at the end of this year.
The MGM catalog includes such films as “12 Angry Men,” “Basic Instinct,” “Creed” and “Rocky,” “Legally Blonde,” “Moonstruck,” “Poltergeist,” “Raging Bull,” “Robocop,” “Silence. of the Lambs, ”“ Stargate, ”“ Thelma & Louise, ”“ Tomb Raider, ”“ The Magnificent Seven, ”“ The Pink Panther, ”“ The Thomas Crown Affair, ”as well as the series“ Fargo, ”“ The Handmaid’s Tale ”and“ Vikings ”. However, much of the pre-1986 archive had already been sold to studios such as Sony and Warner Bros.
Current MGM projects include the new Ridley Scott (“House of Gucci”), Paul Thomas Anderson (“Soggy Bottom”) and “Hail Mary,” adapted from the Andy Weir novel with Ryan Gosling.
