In the original ending of the film, an adult Bo Ra receives an invitation to a photography exhibition where a picture is dedicated to her. At that moment, Bo Ra finds out that her boyfriend Woon Ho passed away in the early 2000s and that was actually the reason why he stopped responding to her messages.. The exhibition is from Woon Ho’s younger brother, who lets him know of the love his late brother had for him.

A tender story about first love.

Although it would also have made you cry, a more suitable ending could have been a happier one where Woon Ho had not died and was reunited with Bo Ra as adults.. Woon Ho would have continued his career as a famous photographer and over the years they would have developed their romance. Even Bo Ra and Woon Ho may have accepted their love for each other at the train station as they tearfully parted ways for a while.

A different ending could have focused on the other relationship in the story, between friends Bo Ra and Yeon Doo who ended up drifting apart.. After years of ending their friendship, Yeon Doo would look for Bo Ra again because her heart problems have worsened and she is seriously ill. Seeing each other again, both would have the opportunity to talk more maturely about what happened during their youth and leave the past behind, realizing the importance of their friendship. What ending would you have liked for A girl of the 20th century?
