The “streaming” sector went through a buoyant stage as a result of the covid-19 pandemic, but with the return to normality, its main corporations are suffering a debacle in their popularity and results.

Netflix, the main platform, revealed earlier this year its first loss of subscribers in a decade, a figure that has increased to one million in the second quarter alone, although it maintains profits.

Features of the basic plan with advertising

The company, through a statement, has indicated that this plan does not replace existing plans and therefore does not affect users already subscribed.

On the other hand, it has indicated that with this new basic plan with advertising, users will be able to enjoy Netflix on all their devices: cell phones, tablets, computers and televisions.

As for technical characteristics, the series and movies will have a resolution of 720p, that is, HD, and they cannot be downloaded to enjoy without an Internet connection. Added to this is the inability to access certain titles due to licensing restrictions.

In total, they will be four or five minute ad segments, in which the guidelines will last between 15 and 30 seconds. These will be played before and during the series and movies.

Advertisers will be able to target their guidelines by targeting by country and product genre (action, drama, romance, etc.) and prevent them from appearing on content that may be inconsistent with their brand (sex, nudity, violence).
