“Top Gun: Maverick” continues to break records Miles Tellerfar from talking about the success of the film, revealed the traumatic experience he lived piloting a plane in a dive during the filming of the film.
To give credibility to the tape, the actors took aviation coursesto those who Teller described as “challenging” but that cannot be compared to what was the shooting with a Tom Cruise really focused and wanting to perform dangerous maneuvers on board an airplane but that he considered vital for the story.
“What Tom does for fun is other people’s hell. It was pretty hard, but the only way this movie is possible is if you have someone like Tom putting that much time and effort into us.Miles Teller said.
Before filming begins, Cruise himself designed a rigorous training course approved by the Navy and by director Joseph Kosinski, who was clear that there was no other way to shoot the film than with preparation. “You can’t fake g-force, you can’t fake vibration, you can’t fake being in one of these fighter jets. We wanted to capture every bit of that and actually shooting it allowed us to do that,” the filmmaker said.
So true were those scenes that Miles Teller remember how bad it was shooting one of them with a group of experienced pilots.
“The next time we got into the Cessna they said: ‘Okay, let’s do a controlled loss’ Y they turned off the engine. So now you’re in freefall in a plane. It got real enough. Then that excitement turned into a lot of adrenaline and I think a fair amount of nerves,” she recalled.
