The curious relationship between Silent Hill and cinema
Although the Konami franchise is related to figures like Elijah Wood or Mel Gibson, the truth is that the saga has not had as good luck in the cinema as these two performers. So far, Silent Hill has two adaptations released in 2006 and 2012 respectively. Unfortunately, these are far from hoarding good reviews and praise. However, they both got a moderate box office success which led to them making profits above budget.
In the absence of knowing what Konami will present us at the event dedicated to the series, it is not expected that any of these projects will be related to the seventh art after more than a decade absent in cinemas. However, in view of the popularity of adaptations of resident Evil, The Last Of Us either Super Mariowho knows if the relationship between Silent Hill and the cinema is back on everyone’s lips.
