In a matter of days the highest grossing movie of all time will return to theaters, we are talking about Avatar. The work of james cameron which premiered in 2009 will serve as an appetizer for the arrival of the long-awaited sequel Avatar: the Way of Water next December.
Avatar tells the story of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) a marine recruited to travel to the imposing planet Pandora, thus control a hybrid creature called Avatar and thus be able to mix with the Na’vi, the local population, and be able to pave the way for purposes miners. By sharing his traditions, seeing what Pandora is really like and especially after falling in love with Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), Jake realizes that the plan of the humans to obtain the planet’s minerals is extremely bloodthirsty. This situation leads to a conflict between the Na’Vi led by Jake and Neytiri and the humans led by the ruthless Colonel Quaritch (Stephen Lang).
Recently james cameron was interviewed by The New York Times for the return of Avatar to the cinema. from the interview also participated producer Jon Landau. During the chat, both James and Jon revealed little-known details about the hit film, one of them being that the film has a connection to madonnathe Queen of pop.
According to Landau, Madonna and her massive concerts served as the inspiration for the filming technology used by Avatar. The producer revealed that seeing Madonna Louise Ciccone and the way she wore the microphones at her concerts, they had the idea to hold the motion capture camera close to the stars and be able to record more closely and with more detail the performances.
“If Madonna can be jumping around with a microphone in her face and give a great performance, we thought, ‘Let’s replace that microphone with a video camera.’ That video camera stays with the actor while we capture the performance, and while we don’t use that image itself, we give it to the visual effects company, and they render it frame by frame, almost porous,” Jon Landau said.
During Blond Ambition World Tour, Madonna not only conquered the world with her music, but also popularized headworn microphones, something not common at a recital. The Queen of Pop, when presenting various choreos, had to maneuver while holding the conventional microphone, so her technicians used these wireless microphones, so Madonna stopped concentrating on her dances and did not stop singing either.
Avatar returns to theaters on September 22 for Latin America, on September 23 for the US and finally on September 30 for Spain. While, Avatar: the Way of Water will be presented December 16.
