Directed by Argentine filmmaker Diego Lerman, “El suplente” is a Argentinian Netflix movie which tells the story of a university professor who begins to teach at a suburban school. In an attempt to help his students, he will put his own destiny at stake.
The film written by Lerman, Marie Meira and Luciana de Mello was previously screened at the San Sebastián International Film Festival and in some cinemas in Argentina, and will be available on the popular streaming platform from January 18, 2023 on much of Latin America. In Mexico and Brazil it can be seen from February 7.

2. Lucas Arrua as Dilan
In his acting debut, Lucas Arrua is in charge of giving life to Dilan, a teenager who is persecuted by a neighborhood drug gang seeking revenge. Upon learning of his case, Lucio will try to help him.

3. Rita Cortese as Amalia
Rita Cortese, renowned Argentine theater, film and television actress and singer who won three Martín Fierro Awards and the Silver Condor Award, assumes the role of Amalia, the director of the school located in a peripheral area of the city where Lucio comes to replace another teacher.

4. Barbara Lennie as Mariela
In “Alternate”, Bárbara Lennie, Spanish actress and producer who has received four Goya Award nominations, obtaining the award for her performance in “Magical Girl” (2014), plays Mariela.
