The cast was trapped in a pandemic dome that did not allow them to leave the island or their family and acquaintances to enter. While Clooney was with her family on set from the start, Roberts went alone and stayed that way. That is why an interview with the New York Times, the actress assured that the Clooney family saved her during filming.
Ticket to Paradise is directed by Ol Parker and narrates a romantic comedy in which a divorced couple travels to Bali to prevent their daughter (kaitlyn dever) marries a local (Maxime Boutier) that he met on his graduation trip, and make the same mistake they did 25 years ago. Although this pair of exes hate each other and never want to see each other again, they make a truce to convince their daughter to make the right decision. But they quickly realize that not only can’t they control what their daughter does, they also don’t quite know what’s right.

During the filming of Ticket to ParadiseRoberts stayed alone in a house, while Clooney, his wife Amal and their children stayed in a nearby house. The actor recounted what the layout was like on set: “We started on Hamilton Island, with all these wild birds, and Julia had the house right below us. I would go out early in the morning and say, ‘Caa-caa,’ and Julia would go out and say, ‘Caa-caa.’ And then she would bring her a cup of coffee with the kids, to them, she was Aunt Juju.”
The 54 year old interpreter She opened up about the longing she felt being alone for so long away from her family. “The Clooneys saved me from loneliness and despair. We were in a bubble, and it’s the longest time I’ve been away from my family. I don’t think she’s spent this much time alone since she was 25 years old.”
And it is that the friendship shared by the actors it goes beyond what the public knew or suspected. Although the characters start the film already divorced, when the spark resurfaces there is a scene of a kiss. “When I told my wife that the scene took us 80 takes, she couldn’t believe me,” Clooney said. Roberts clarified that filming the scene was so difficult for them because being such close friends made it difficult for them to create a romantic atmosphere. “It was 79 shots of us laughing until we finally got one kissing.”
