It is one of the best action movie sagas in history and now it comes to HBO Max in full with Matt Damon in top form

Action movies many continue to be made every year, the ones that are scarce are the really good ones, but that is something that can be said to have always happened. Therefore, the fact that all the films of the bourne sagaone of the best in the history of cinema within this genre, have reached HBO Max it seems a golden opportunity to (re)approach them.

Based on the books written by Robert Ludlumthe franchise debuted in 2002 with ‘The Bourne Affair’a very enjoyable mix between a spy film and a thriller in which Matt Damon he began to show that he could be a most competent action hero. However, he went with ‘The Bourne Myth’ when everything changed, since the arrival of Paul Greengrass behind the scenes gave the saga a different visual energy and that may not be to everyone’s taste.

That is something that many others tried to replicate with little success, but that Greengrass himself took one step further in 2006 with ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’, a film that worked very well for the saga to stay in a trilogy. In fact, it would not have been out of place in any list of the best trilogies in history, but in Universal they were clear that they could still continue squeezing it.

It was then that the Bourne saga lost some of its charm with ‘The Bourne Legacy’in which there was Jeremy Renner as a great protagonist Tony Gilroy Behind the cameras. With a somewhat more conventional approach and a rather disappointing final stretch, it is also true that until then it was a more than worthy action pastime.

As ‘The Bourne Legacy’ did not live up to expectations, for the next installment got both Damon and Greengrass backbut ‘Jason Bourne’ left a bittersweet taste.
