Henry Cavill confirmed that he returns as “Superman” to the DC universe

Although for a couple of days there was a rumor about a possible sequel to man of steel (2013), it has been Henry Cavill himself who has confirmed this news through his social networks. The announcement comes after this weekend premiered Black Adama film in which the British actor has a cameo as Superman in the post credits scene.

Cavill has made it official that he is back as the superhero who in a short video on his Instagram account made fans of the character happy, who want to see a continuation of the character in the universe that DC Comics has been building for a few years with Warner Bros.

“This is just a taste of what is to come. The spark of hope has been renewed. Thank you for her patience, it will be rewarded. I wanted to wait until the weekend before posting this and now that so many have already seen it, I wanted to make it official that I’m back as Superman,” Henry is heard saying in the clip.

The actor thanked the support of the fans, who he assured made this return possible, since for some years they had been asking for a second part of the film he starred in 2013.

It is announced that it is not surprising, since since the beginning of the year, various US media such as Deadline reported that Cavill and Warner were in talks for Clark Kent to return. According to some specialists, the idea is that Black Adam of Dwayne Johnson and Superman get to share a film, either in a sequel to Adam or Man of Steel.

Although there are no writers or directors attached, the intention is for Cavill to star in at least one solo Superman film. According to information given by TheHollywood Reporter, DC is developing Man of Steel 2 with Henry Cavill ready to return to the role of the last son of Krypton, although apparently the whole process is just in development and the studio is looking for someone to write the script, so it has been interviewing some writers.

Apparently, this new sequel would be part of the universe that DC has been making with Warner Bros. in recent years (with feature films such as Shazam either Black Adam) and according to the site that broke the news, the studio is in talks with the director Christopher McQuarrieresponsible for blockbusters like Mission: Impossible to join the project.
