“He really wants to see people win,” Sarah Shahi told Infobae about her experience with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

For a decade, Dwayne Johnson, better known as The Rock, worked on playing this character and finally the film reaches theaters.

The universe DC delivered over the years to great superheroes who were part of the childhoods and imagination of many comic book readers and viewers of series and movies. Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman are perhaps the most representative of this field to which Aquaman is added and now, of course, Black Adam.

The film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise), hits theaters this Thursday, October 20. It is a super promotion that brings one of the most popular actors in the industry as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the central role of this superhero who assumes the name of Black Adam. Nearly 5,000 years after gaining the ultimate powers of the ancient gods – and being imprisoned just as quickly – Black Adam (Johnson) breaks free from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his peculiar brand of justice on the world. modern. The power is born from the fury of this hero’s past that will be revealed throughout the film.

In this awakening he will meet Adrianna (Sarah Shahi, Sex/Life, An explosive couple 3) a woman who wants to rescue a treasure from the past while taking care of her son. But the enemies will soon appear and this superhero will have to face them. He is not alone in this task: a group led by Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan) will be his support, although he does not register them as such as soon as he is known. The team is made up of Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell) and Atom (Noah Centineo).

In communication with Infobae, part of the cast among them Hodge, Swindell, Shahi Y Centineodiscussed what it was like to work with The rock.

Shahi: He really wants to see people win. He has no problem with another person standing out. When he’s acting if there’s an actor in the scene who maybe has a few lines in the script, he hands over his lines to the other person. And he comes across as a very approachable person, he’s very real. I really didn’t expect that from him when I first met him.

Hodg: He is really a great guy. He worked a long time to shape this film, he understands how to interpret it and where he should take the superhero genre and make it evolve. And that is what we will see in this film. The evolution of what we think we know about the world of superheroes. At the beginning of the filming, at one point on the set I had a script line that could be a bit dark and he said “Let’s not change it, we do not want the audience to not like Hawkman at this time, we want them to be on your side.” He makes those decisions because he is a creative producer. He knows that everyone needs his space to shine. He is really a team player.

New preview of the film starring Dwayne Johnson about one of the most powerful villains in the universe of DC Comics heroes

In recent years there has been a boom in superhero movies, why do you think viewers keep choosing them and loving them so much?

Swindell: I think because it’s something bigger than real life. It makes people think about what they want to do, what inspires them, and these films allow them to capture those ideas. So I think that’s why people continue to watch them, because these stories specifically like the one about Black Adam they are a specific and honest reflection of what is happening in the world today.

Hodg: I think people still love them because it allows them to think true imagination, creativity. But it also gives them the opportunity to believe in someone other than themselves. When they want to find the strength in someone or they had a difficult day. They can see an idea of what superpowers can do in a movie and that can inspire them. And I think the best thing that happens in Black Adam it’s the story, the motivation of the characters, the representation of the culture of all the cast members. People can see them and connect with themselves and realize that their dreams can be fulfilled. Nothing is so unattainable because for all of us it was one of the greatest opportunities of our career. We have all been working for many years and we were able to do it. It’s worth it. Continue believing in yourself. That is what the film represents.
