One of Netflix’s most anticipated titles is the sequel to extraction. In 2020, in the midst of a pandemic, the action film with Chris Hemsworth unleashed madness on the streaming platform. Both the critics and the general public were amazed at the rescue mission tyler rake and as expected they asked for more.
The film, based on the graphic novel by Ande Parkscount as Tylera former Australian special forces turned mercenary, is tasked with saving Ovi Mahajan, the son of a drug kingpin who is kidnapped by his opponents. After fighting through an entire city, Rake manages to save the boy, but at the cost of his life. The ending showed young mahajan practicing swimming and before finishing his exercises, you can see in the distance a man who was waiting for him… Rake. This ending left the public clamoring for a sequel.
During the massive TUDUM event of 2021, Netflix released a clip revealing how the mercenary survives the fall of the river in India. At the end of last year Extraction 2 began filming in different European locations. Thanks to Hemsworth and director Sam Hargrave, updates of the film were arriving, with images from a train in an icy landscape and even videos of a prison riot. In April of this year it was confirmed that the recordings had come to an end.
So far there is no more information about the plot, it is only known, thanks to Joe Russothe screenwriter of the film, that the story will be different from the first, presenting a different rhythm that will take the action to different locations and that the action scenes will not skimp.
In early 2022 Netflix released a trailer with all the premieres of weight in terms of cinema that arrived in the year. Many were surprised because in the trailer they did not see any images of Tyler Rake. This sowed doubts, since many expected the premiere for some point this year.
Now the Extraction 2 release date becomes more tangible. According to advanced the site ColliderHemsworth’s film will be presented in Netflix by 2023. This completely rules out rumors that it would premiere as a surprise for the Christmas season. Although the exact date was not confirmed, already knowing that next year will have Tyler Rake, it bodes well for fans.
