‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’ swept the North American box office on the first day of release

The animated film “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero” —the number 21 of the Japanese franchise— led the North American box office this Sunday with an estimated collection of 20.1 million dollars, the specialized firm reported on Sunday Exhibitor Relations.

The strong result of that movie from the production company Crunchyrollwhich considers it the best world opening of an animated film, far surpassed the other big release, “Beast”, from Universal, which brought in 11.6 million dollars.

The action movie “Bullet Train”, starring Brad Pitt, which he led in the last two weeks, grossed 8 million dollars.

Fourth place went to “Top Gun: Maverick” 5.9 million. In 13 weeks on the bill, the film has Tom Cruise as its star author, it has garnered 683 million dollars in North American theaters and 703 million abroad.

Animated film “DC League of Super Pets” (“Krypto and the Super-Beasts”) dropped three places to fifth place with $5.8 million.

‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’ It hit all theaters on Thursday, August 18, one day before its US premiere.

The first trailers for ‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero‘ showed to Gohan using his Super Saiyan formsin a kind of betrayal of his earlier decision to focus on his Ultimate form and achieve a form that no Saiyan has ever unlocked.
