On June 16, the film premiered in Peru “Lightyear” from Disney Pixar. The tape was highly anticipated by fans of “Toy Story” because it would tell the origin of Buzz Lightyear, but after its release, some people who saw the film focused their attention on a scene that shows the kiss between two people of the same sex.
“I don’t see the need to put a lesbian kiss in a children’s movie. Children are not interested in romantic love.” It was the message of a netizen. Given these comments, the Cineplanet movie chain decided to make a warning to parents before seeing the tape.
“The origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the toy, and who introduces us to the legendary Space Ranger who would end up with generations of fans. (Contains scenes with gender ideology)”can be read on the Cineplanet website.
However, the warning divided the viewing public. Some agreed with Cineplanet’s message, while others did not.
“The nonsense that you have put Cineplanet in its synopsis on Lightyear has only been in Peru (left image), which to top it off they have also put it as a ‘warning’ on printed posters in their stores. On the right, the synopsis of Cineplanet Chile without those words”, said user @LunarejaVillar.
Given the negative responses from the public on social networks, Cineplanet Peru decided to remove this warning from its theaters and from its website.
