‘Avatar’ returns to number one at the box office more than twelve years after its premiere

To go making mouth while it arrives, in mid December, the first of four planned sequels. If anyone doubted that with the time that has elapsed, since the end of 2009, the premiere of Avatar of james cameron there was still interest in seeing the new installments of the highest-grossing film in the history of cinema, the replacement has been dispelling doubts. It is a global success and in our theaters it has also been the highest grossing in its re-release raising 953,896 eurosaccording to not yet definitive data from ComScore Movies.

It was re-released in 274 cinemas and, in total, was projected on 475 screens obtaining a remarkable average of 2,008 euros per screen. The arrival of Avataralong with other novelties, has ousted from first place Tadeo Jones 3: The Emerald Tablet that, despite everything, continues to stand firm in the top ten of the most viewed.

paramount

The terror of ‘Smile’. The director’s feature film debut Parker Finnbased on his own 2020 short Laura Hasn’t Sleptwas presented as one of the most interesting horror proposals of the seasonand although in its premiere it could not be the highest grossing in Spain, it was the second highest grossing of the weekend, with more than half a million euros deposited. In addition, the ratings it is getting are among the best for a horror movie so far in 2022.

‘The wild girl’ and ‘Argentina, 1985’. Perhaps not much was expected of the wild girl directed by Olivia Newmanbut there it is among the ten highest grossing, with its story about marginal characters and a plot of trials, debuting in eighth place with 104,948 euros. And, although he may not seem like it, he has done even better Argentina, 1985 of Santiago Miterstarring Ricardo Darin Y Peter Lanzani and based on the trials against the Argentine military dictatorship. It is true that it entered as the tenth highest grossing, but its average per screen (it premiered in 57 theaters and was shown on 59 screens) was the third best of the weekend with 1,588 euros (in front, Avatar and also the 1,801 euros on average per screen of Smile).
