A spin-off is coming: What we know about the ‘Vision Quest’ series that Marvel Studios is preparing

It is already more than clear that the Marvel Studios He has quite a bit of work to do from here on out. The MCU has several projects planned at least until its phase 5 and the account continues… Now, the character of Vision will have his own series, which will be the first installment in which he is the sole protagonist.

The rumor about this production circulated in recent days, but had not been confirmed until now. What story arc will it focus on and where will the whole show go? We tell you what we know for now.

‘Vision Quest’ is confirmed as one of the next MCU series

After Vision’s death in infinity war, there was always the question of what would happen to the most powerful android (or well, ‘synthezoid’) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In WandaVision the character was ‘revived’ in a version that was obviously not the one we knew, especially in the understanding that this new representation was born from the magic of Wanda Maximoff and did not have the consciousness of the original.

Over there, SWORD intelligence agency used the body of the hero defeated by Thanos and restored it in a white version that at the end of the series, he met his counterpart recreated by the Scarlet Witch. After getting really existential with each other, that new Vision went to who knows where the hell. And that is where this new series that has just been confirmed will surely be directed.

In accordance with Varietythis upcoming show has the working title of vision quest, which is also the name of a story arc in the comics related to the character. Of course, Paul Bettany is confirmed to take on the title role and the head writer will be Jack Schaefer, who previously worked on the series about Wanda Maximoff. According to sources, pre-production on the series will begin the following week.

With this new installment, we will now have two spin-offs derived from WandaVision. The first of them will be Agatha: Coven Of Chaos, which will be part of phase 5 and will focus on the enemy of the aforementioned series played by Kathryn Hahn. Both series will arrive on Disney +, but it does not yet have an exact release date. Below we leave our interview with the cast of WandaVision.

What is Vision Quest about?

As we were saying, this new series will be called vision quest and although Marvel Studios has not given details about the specific plot, it is almost certain that it will show us what happened to the version of the character that disappeared at the end of WandaVision not to mention where he was going.

Now, if the title tells us anything, then it’s only fair to know what the comic it could be based on based on the name is about. The plot arc of this new character in the comics, we see it within the deliveries of West Coast Avengers, team founded by Hawkeye in which we find Mockingbird, Wonder Man, Iron Man (Jim Rhodes), Moon Knight and in which the US Agent and Kate Bishop occasionally appear, two characters who are already part of the MCU by the way.

In the comic, rogue US government agents steal Vision’s body and disassemble it. After getting it back, Hank Pym restores it but in a piece without color and without the matrix that allows it to have emotions (a bit of what has already been adapted in WandaVision). Although we have already seen the adaptation of this comic a bit in the series about Wanda Maximoff, it is possible that the new Vision Quest will show us the character joining some team of superheroes in the MCU, with the Thunderbolts being one of the upcoming ones. This, of course, is an assumption, but it doesn’t sound that crazy. We’ll see what happens.
