SpaceX employees who denounced Musk in a letter fired

A group of SpaceX employees would have sent a letter criticizing the behavior of its owner, the tycoon Elon Musk. As a result, the directors of the American company made a rather radical decision.

According to employee statements to The New York Times, the SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell sent an internal email saying that those involved had been fired.

The workers told the local media that they had been investigated by the company. For now it is unknown how many people would have been left without work after the decision.

However, the aforementioned medium had access to the fragment of the letter that referred to the multiple dismissal.

Targeting thousands of people across the company with repeated unsolicited emails and asking them to sign letters and complete unsponsored surveys during business hours is not acceptableShootwell wrote.

In the statement sent by the workers, they would be criticizing the employer’s publications which were considered “a frequent source of distraction and embarrassment, particularly in recent weeks.”

In addition, the letter, to which ‘The Verge’ had access, pointed out how the recent accusations against Musk about the sexual harassment have affected the reputation of the company.

“As our most prominent CEO and spokesperson, Elon is seen as the face of SpaceX: every tweet he sends is a de facto public statement from the company… It is critical to make clear to our teams and our potential pool of talent that your message does not reflect our work, our mission or our values,” the letter said.

In addition to this, the employees made three requests: that the company be separated immediately from Musk, that all company leaders have the same responsibility to make SpaceX a great place to work and that regardless of position, everyone in the company should respond in the same way when they engaged in unacceptable behavior.
