We suspended it two years ago so we plan to make an announcement, hopefully relatively soon, about what we are going to do,” former UK Deputy Prime Minister and now head of global affairs at Meta, Nick Clegg, told a group of journalists today.
Within the framework of the Davos Economic Forum, Clegg wanted to make it clear that for them “suspending the former president of the most powerful democracy in the world for two years is unprecedented” and in their decision they will analyze the risk of reinstating Trump.
“At the time we said that we would analyze whether or not the challenge to public safety had changed over that time. But as a general principle, we are a private sector company that believes that political debate should be held in the open,” added Glegg.
In this sense, he assured that Trump’s suspension served to publish on his platform “a new set of measures, especially applied to public figures in moments of instability or conflict.”
