Meet XÆA-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl and Xavier: the children of Elon Musk

After the announcement of a trans daughter of the controversial businessman Elon Musk who at this time asked a court in the United States (USA) to recognize his gender and a new name and surname, curiosity has arisen to know a little more about the names of the descendants of the tycoon.

This is the case of Xavier Musk, 18, who recently went to a court in Los Angeles (California) to ask that his female “gender identity” be recognized and also the fact, he said, that he does not “live” nor does he want to have ties to his “biological father, in any way and under no circumstances,” according to the New York Post.

But let’s go back to the father, Elon Musk, whose full name and date of birth are Elon Reeve Musk, born June 28, 1971.

As for Elon Musk’s children, the first was a girl, Nevada Alexander Musk, who was born in 2002. Tragically, Nevada passed away at 10 weeks.

The reproductive life of tycoon Elon Musk and his wife Justine continued with the welcoming of twins Griffin Musk and Xavier Musk, whom we mentioned earlier, in 2004, via in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Subsequently, his triplets Kai Musk, Saxon Musk and Damian Musk were born in 2006, also through IVF.

Meanwhile, in May 2020, Elon announced the birth of his son on Twitter, whom he welcomed with his girlfriend, singer Grimes, and is called XÆA-Xii, known as ‘X’.

It was in March 2022, when a Vanity Fair article revealed that Elon and Grimes had welcomed a daughter in December 2021 through a surrogate, whom they named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, for short ‘Y’.

As for the Tesla and SpaceX CEO’s Choice of Baby Names, among others, and Grimes, they have kept their unique style of baby names for their second baby, daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, with their unusual inclusion of the Latin diphthong ‘ æ’ to which Grimes told Vanity Fair that it has an ‘elvish’ edge.

They also decided to call her ‘Y’ for short, complementing her brother’s name ‘X’.

Grimes explained that his inspiration for Y’s name came from a number of different sources. Exa refers to the computing term ExaFLOPS: the performance of a supercomputer.

And from Sideræl, which Grimes pronounces “sigh-deer-ee-el,” points to deep space time rather than Earth time.

When the couple announced the name of their first child, “XÆA-12 Musk”, they caused a media stir, especially when it came to the pronunciation of the name.

Elon Musk explained to podcast host Joe Rogan that “first of all, my partner is the one who actually mostly came up with the name. Yeah, she’s great with names.”

When asked how to pronounce his baby’s name, the Tesla CEO said: “I mean it’s just X, the letter X. And then the Æ is pronounced like ‘Ash’… and then A-12, A -12 is my contribution.”

However, Grimes later announced on Instagram that she and Musk had changed part of their baby’s name from XÆA-12 to X A-Xii, in Roman numerals, because it looked better.
